Most leadership assessments ask what you are like. This one asks what you are like in ordinary conditions, what you are like when the stakes are high, and reads the difference.
Leadership is not a set of traits you either have or do not have. It is a system, and it runs on three working capabilities.
ThinkingHow you make sense of a situation and decide what the problem actually is.
ExecutionHow you start, how you finish, and how you change course when the evidence turns.
AlignmentHow you read people, hold their trust, and stay someone they will tell the truth to.
A system does not perform at its average. It performs at the rate of its thinnest part. This reading is built to find yours, and to find it where it matters: not on a good day, but when the stakes are high.

You will rate each statement twice. Once for how you are in ordinary conditions. Once for how you are when the stakes are high. Rate what actually drives your behaviour, not what you would like to be true. Rating everything high is the most common form of self-deception in an instrument like this, and it is the one thing that makes the result worthless to you.

What nine statements cannot tell you
A thermometer tells you that you have a fever. It does not tell you what is causing it.
Nine statements can place you across three capabilities. They cannot tell you which of the fifteen sub-systems inside them is doing the leaking, and they cannot separate a real movement from the particular way you happen to rate yourself. Nothing here has been checked against anything: every number on this page came from you, about you, in the last four minutes. The full instrument carries shadow batteries, identity anchors and scenario items precisely because self-rating on its own is not evidence.
Where that question gets answered
The full instrument locates it. One hundred and eighty-nine items, about forty-five minutes, with the shadow batteries, identity anchors and scenario items that catch what self-rating misses. It resolves the direction you have just seen into one specific sub-system, and it names what that has been costing you.
Your nine answers carry across. You will not be asked them again.
One line is plenty. It goes straight to me and nowhere else.
